Jose Antonio Blanco is an Associate Professor in the Academic Unit of Business Administration at Industrial Engineering School (ETSII), Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM). 

He is currently teaching:

- Leadership and Business Legal Foundations for MIO - Master in Industrial Engineering.
- Business Legal Framework and Capital Markets for GIO - Graduate in Industrial Engineering.
- Company and its Environment for GITI - Graduate in Industrial Technologies Engineering.
- Competitive Intelligence and Technology Surveillance for eMBA (Digital Economy) and International MBA at IEN Industriales Escuela de Negocios.

Prior to coming to UPM he has taught as a visiting professor at UNED, EOI, UCLM and URJC.

He is CEO and founder of Excelenzia. The company focuses on advising and consulting for implementation of Management Systems (Q, R&D and Innovation), Patent Analysis, Technology Surveillance and Competitive Intelligence. Also, he is coaching SMEs and entrepreneurs for launching new business-technology projects at Madri+d Foundation,
Comunidad de Madrid.

Previously, he was working as a manager in industrial sector at Spies Hecker (Dupont de Nemours) and Nissan. He has also been involved in several corporate managerial positions in international consultancy sector at Novotec-Soluziona and Clarke, Modet & Cº.
  
He holds a Master in Mechanical Engineering from UNED and also has a Master degree in Industrial Safety from Comillas University.
